Securing a Foothold

One of the things I've learned about scanlation is that a great deal of the difficulty actually depends on the quality of the raw images you get. If you've bothered to download any of the raw SaeKano light novels from say nyaa you might have noticed after the good quality images of volume 1, quality starts to dip a bit, with the images of volume 5 being rather straining to read. This can be troublesome for trying to read particular kanji.

Now some of you might have been wondering about the lack of updates. Not long after I posted the prologue translation I went overseas for about 2 and a bit weeks. During my trip I stopped by Japan and chanced upon the opportunity to access the best quality images of the light novels, the books themselves.

Anime Advertisements for All

The current 8 books, volumes 1 to 7 plus the Fandisk cost me around 5,000 yen in total. In addition I also got some extra bonuses.

Guess where I got these bonuses from for extra points!

These bonuses are a few character sketches plus comments and a few extra short stories. (I might also translate these at some point.)

So if I am to see this thing to completion, I may as well go for gold right?

Now that I am back from holidays though, it's back to good old work; the drudgery of life that gives me the power to go overseas and buy all this in the first place. As for the next actual update, it shouldn't be too long, about 2-4 weeks as Megumi dialogue is easy to translate.

See you next time.

    1. Thanks for the comment. I sometimes get distracted like Tomoya which makes the translation process drag on longer than it should~
