So from today, this translation project will officially be moving to NanoDesu! You might be wondering why, and that's a good question.
First, editing support. Translation really screws with your English. You might be quite capable of forming coherent, grammatically correct English sentences, but all that flies out of the window once the Japanese enters and scrambles your brain. NanoDesu has set me up with a very experienced, professional editor who has a keen eye for many of the mistakes I've made through the process of JP to English.
Second is security. The whole plagiarism thing was quite a scare for me. It really told me how little exposure I had and how susceptible I was to any misdeeds. I'm still free to translate how I want in NanoDesu and I can translate without the pressure of thieves behind my back. So worry not readers!
Last is community! The folks at NanoDesu are a friendly lot and it's good to have the support of many other translators who have been around for awhile. They have forums and irc which I can use to engage with you, the readers in a more active way then simply through comments alone. So I hope to see you there at NanoDesu and please keep supporting me while I translate.
That's all for now!

SaeKano Volume 1 Chapter 1 Translation Notes and Discussion
Chapter 1 TL Notes
Welcome to the first installment of this translation project's translation notes.
These notes are generally going to be used to point out and explain some of the references and terms used in the Light Novel. SaeKano is deeply seeded in Otaku culture, with some of the terms quite unfamiliar to me. I've had to look up some words which are not in any standard Japanese dictionary. Some of these words also have no English equivalent and finding a good English equivalent for some of the terms can prove difficult at times. As such, these notes are also going to discuss some of my thoughts behind the translation process.
Although there are many references in the Prologue, I won't be listing them here, I will place them in another post later. Now then time to start!

Securing a Foothold
One of the things I've learned about scanlation is that a great deal of the difficulty actually depends on the quality of the raw images you get. If you've bothered to download any of the raw SaeKano light novels from say nyaa you might have noticed after the good quality images of volume 1, quality starts to dip a bit, with the images of volume 5 being rather straining to read. This can be troublesome for trying to read particular kanji.
Now some of you might have been wondering about the lack of updates. Not long after I posted the prologue translation I went overseas for about 2 and a bit weeks. During my trip I stopped by Japan and chanced upon the opportunity to access the best quality images of the light novels, the books themselves.

Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata Volume 1 Prologue
Statement of Intent
Hi everyone, Steel here again. Since my old blog at thoughteclipse.blog.com is hosted on an unstable server I've decided to migrate to blogger. This blog here is primarily focused on providing translations. Currently I'm just starting out small, but in time I hope to get good enough to start posting good quality translations on a regular basis. I'll be working on doing Saenai no Heroine no Sodatekata, Volume 1, Chapter 1 and beyond, hopefully see you guys next time soon!
